One of the events of the All-Russian scientific and practical conference “CRYOGENIC SOILS IN THE ANTHROPOCENE”, which was held from August 20 to 26, 2023, in Salekhard (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Russia), included a panel discussion titled “ARRANGEMENT AND FOCUS AREAS OF INTERDISCIPLINARY WORK AT THE SEVEN LARCHES AND LABYTNANGI CARBON TEST SITES.

The “Creation of a national observation network for CO2 emissions from soils as part of the implementation of the KIGP: prospects and first results” report prepared by the team of authors was presented by I.N. Kurganova, Doctor of Science in Biology. It was noted that in 2023, as part of the Key innovative government project, observations of CO2 emissions from soils have been carried out at 93 sites in 18 regions of Russia, and at half of the observation sites, measurements are carried out year-round.
