Young Journalists learn the Secrets of Greenhouse Gases at Bakchar Bog

A group of young journalists from the children’s television company “Strana Zvezd” (from Podolsk) visited the measurement site of the Institute of Atmospheric Optics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, located on the territory of the Bakchar Bog in the Tomsk region.

This site is a part of a network of measurement sites where the investigations of greenhouse gas fluxes are carrying out under the consortium “RITM Carbon”.

During the visit, the children were introduced and shown how gas exchange measurements between the atmosphere and terrestrial ecosystems are conducted using the chamber method, as well as what accompanying parameters should be measured to obtain representative data.
