Science of the Department of General Ecology, Anatomy and Physiology of Plants, as well as the Department of Forest Taxation, Forest Management and Geoinformation Systems of St. Petersburg State Forestry University opened the field season as part of the implementation of the most important innovative project of national importance aimed at creating a unified national monitoring system of climatically active substances – “RITM carbon”.
In the 2024 field season planned to assess carbon pools at disturbed ecosystems (after logging) with logging periods of 20-40, 60-80 and more than 100 years. The teaching staff conducted a field work to select the Lisinsky Educational and Experimental Forestry in order to form a network of permanent sample plots.
