On July 4, 2024 researchers of the V.N. Sukachev Laboratory of Biogeocenology and the Youth Laboratory of Ecological and Climatic Research of the IPEE RAS welcomed the participants of the 6th meeting of the BRICS working group on the development of research infrastructure and megascience class projects. The members of the working group got acquainted with the environmental and climatic research carried out on the basis of South Valdai Ecological Observatory “Okovsky Forest”.
Representatives of Brazil, South Africa, India, as well as some Russian institutions, visited ecological and climatic stations with automatic observations of greenhouse gas fluxes and meteorological regime during the field excursion. The stations are part of the system of monitoring of climatically active substances in Russia. The participants confirmed their interest in cooperation on the climate agenda, as well as in the development of the joint projects.
